Copyright Infringement Policy

We take all claims of copyright infringement on Artcore seriously. This policy answers some common questions about copyright and explains how you can submit a copyright removal request to Artcore, retract a copyright removal request and remedy a mistaken removal of your Music.

Any personal data collected by Artcore under this policy will be held and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available here. Any capitalised terms used in this policy have the meanings given to them in our Artcore Terms of Use available here.

What is copyright?

When a person creates an original piece of work that is fixed in a physical medium, such by way of a recording or writing down words, they automatically own the copyright to that work.

As copyright owner, the person has the exclusive right to use the work. Copyright owners can licence or assign their copyright to other third parties, such as to record labels, music publishing companies or other musicians, to use their work. Only the copyright owner (or assignee or licensee) can say whether someone else has permission to use the work.

What rights do I need to upload and sell Music on Artcore?

Before you upload Music to Artcore, you must the get the rights to all elements of the Music granting you permission to do so no matter how extensive those elements are.

Always contact the copyright owners or rightsholders directly and negotiate the appropriate licence for you to upload and sell the Music on Artcore.

How do I submit a copyright removal request?

If your Music was uploaded to Artcore without your required permission, you can submit a copyright removal request to Artcore asking Artcore to takedown the Music.

To submit a copyright removal request to Artcore, please contact Artcore by email with the subject line ‘Copyright Removal Request’ to copyright@artcore.com with the following information:

  • Your username
  • Your full legal name
  • Your physical address and phone number
  • Title of the Music
  • Clear explanation as to why you believe your permission is required to upload and the sell the Music on Artcore and confirmation that this has not happened

Please note, submitting a false copyright removal request or submitting false information may result in the suspension of your Artcore Account or other legal consequences.

Once received, with all the information required, Artcore will review all Copyright Removal Requests in accordance with the law and remove the Music from Artcore if copyright infringement has taken place.

Should your copyright removal request be successful, the relevant Music will be removed from Artcore.

How do I retract a copyright removal request?

If you have changed your mind or realised that you have mistakenly submitted a copyright removal request to Artcore, you can retract your claim of copyright infringement by contacting Artcore by email with the subject line ‘Retraction of Copyright Removal Request’ to copyright@artcore.com with the following information:

  • Your username
  • Your full legal name
  • Your physical address and phone number
  • Title of the Music
  • The wording ‘I hereby retract my claim of copyright infringement’

Why was the Music that I have permission to use removed or blocked?

If you have the rights to upload and sell the Music on Artcore, make sure all the relevant copyright owners and rightsholders of the Music know this. This can help you avoid a mistaken removal or block.

If your Music was removed by a copyright infringement request in error, please contact Artcore by email with the subject line ‘Reinstatement Request’ to copyright@artcore.com with the following information:

  • Your username
  • Your full legal name
  • Your physical address and phone number
  • Title of the Music
  • Clear explanation as to why you believe the removal of the Music with a mistake

Should your Reinstatement Request be successful, the relevant Music will be reuploaded to Artcore by Artcore.

Artcore will deal with all requests made under this policy as quickly as it can and in accordance with the law. You acknowledge that in doing so, Artcore will act in good faith and in accordance with its understanding of the position at law. However, you agree that Artcore shall have no liability to any party for any decision that it reaches.
